Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)
Both Polymarket and Kalshi use identical resolution logic based on official UFC results: Polymarket resolves winner/method/distance markets according to UFC's official declaration, and Kalshi resolves the head-to-head winner market the same way. All markets share the same cancellation/postponement/no-contest fallback (50-50 or No on Kalshi).
Primary resolution logic:
Official UFC announcement and fight result documentation from ufc.com
Core resolution logic:
Winner market resolves to the fighter officially declared victorious by UFC, or 50-50 if draw, no contest, not scored, canceled, or postponed beyond May 9, 2026.
Method markets (submission, KO/TKO, distance) resolve YES only if the fight ends by that specific method; otherwise NO, with 50-50 for cancellation/postponement/no contest.
Round threshold markets (O/U 0.5, 1.5, 2.5) resolve Over if fight continues past the 2:30 mark of the specified round, Under if it ends before, or 50-50 if exactly at threshold or event is canceled/postponed/not scored.
Distance market resolves YES only if fight goes full scheduled rounds and is decided by judges' scorecards (including judge-decided draws); otherwise NO, with 50-50 for cancellation/postponement/no contest.
All markets share a unified cancellation clause: if bout is ruled no contest, not scored, canceled, or postponed beyond May 9, 2026, resolution is 50-50 (Polymarket) or equivalent (Kalshi).
Edge cases & Clarifications:
Exact Threshold Resolution: If fight ends exactly at 2:30 of the specified round (e.g., 2:30 of Round 1 for O/U 0.5), the market resolves 50-50, not Over or Under.
Technical Decision or Technical Draw: Technical decisions or technical draws declared before all scheduled rounds are completed resolve NO on distance market (fight does not go the distance), but the winner market still resolves to the declared victor if applicable.
Judge-Decided Draw: If all rounds are completed and judges declare a draw, the winner market resolves 50-50, but the distance market resolves YES (fight went full distance and was decided by judges).
Postponement Cutoff: If the fight is postponed to any date beyond May 9, 2026, all markets resolve 50-50 (Polymarket) or equivalent, regardless of eventual outcome.
Timing:
Resolution occurs upon official UFC announcement of the fight result, including method of victory and round/time. For round threshold markets, timing is determined by the exact timestamp of the finish or completion of all scheduled rounds.
