Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect a broader, decentralized crowd rather than a single operator's risk management. Sportsbooks adjust odds to balance liability and lock in profit margins, while this market prices outcomes based on continuous trader activity and real-money conviction. Over time, prediction markets tend to converge toward actual event results, making them useful benchmarks for comparing against published betting lines and identifying where public opinion and professional oddsmakers disagree most sharply.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker (AMM) system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective assessment of fight probability—higher demand for a particular fighter's shares pushes that outcome's price upward, while selling pressure lowers it. Liquidity pools determine how much slippage occurs on larger trades, so deeper pools allow traders to move the needle with less impact per dollar wagered.
This market resolves around Jul 12, 2026, once the fight concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by the official fight result—whether Green or McKinney wins by decision, knockout, submission, or disqualification. Any technical issues or disputed judging are resolved according to the sanctioning body's ruling and mainstream sports media confirmation, ensuring the market reflects the genuine, widely-recognized outcome of the lightweight bout.
Fighter news—injuries, training camp updates, or weight-cut complications—can trigger sharp repricing as traders reassess competitive balance. Weigh-in results and official fighter statements often spark volatility, particularly if either competitor appears compromised or unusually confident. Betting line movements at major sportsbooks, analyst commentary, and social media sentiment shifts among MMA communities can also influence this market. Late-stage developments like corner changes or unexpected fight-week announcements typically generate the largest swings in implied probability.
