This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns are scored by players catching passes in an upcoming college football game. The outcomes depend on whether specific teams reach certain thresholds of receiving touchdowns during the match.
These markets resolve based on the total number of receiving touchdowns scored by either UCLA or Maryland in their college football game scheduled for September 26, 2026. A receiving touchdown is counted when a player catches a pass and scores, including in overtime periods; however, successful two-point conversions do not count, regardless of when they occur. If a player recovers another player's fumble and scores, it does not count as a receiving touchdown, but if the player recovers their own fumble and scores, it does count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when public sentiment strongly favors one outcome. Comparing the two can provide a more comprehensive view of the likely result, though it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, not guarantees.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring – in this case, a team scoring touchdowns. As more people buy contracts predicting a touchdown, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants and adjusts in real-time based on new information and trading activity. The current price indicates what the market believes is the likelihood of a team reaching the endzone.
This market resolves around Sep 26, 2026, following the completion of the UCLA vs Maryland football game. The outcome will be determined by verifying the official game statistics, specifically the number of touchdowns scored by each team, against credible public reporting. The market will settle to 100 if a team scores a touchdown, and 0 if they do not. This ensures a clear and objective outcome based on the established rules of the game and publicly available data.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game concludes. News regarding key player injuries on either team would likely have a significant impact, as would any changes in weather forecasts that could affect the offensive strategies. Unexpected announcements about coaching decisions or team formations could also shift expectations. Even public sentiment, reflected in social media or expert analysis, can contribute to price movements as traders react to new information and adjust their predictions.
