Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess the probability of various outcomes. This can lead to discrepancies, as prediction markets aggregate the wisdom of the crowd and are less susceptible to biases that might influence sportsbook lines. It's common to see differences in implied probabilities, especially when public sentiment strongly deviates from expert analysis. Examining these differences can offer valuable insights.

On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price is determined solely by supply and demand among traders on Polymarket, and is not influenced by external factors or predetermined values. This creates a fluid and responsive pricing system.
