This market focuses on determining which team will lead after the third quarter of a college football game between Tulane and Duke. It provides a snapshot of in-game momentum by evaluating performance during a specific period, reflecting strategic adjustments and player execution in a critical segment of the match.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points during the third quarter of the Tulane vs Duke college football game scheduled for September 5, 2026. If Duke scores more points in that quarter, the 'Duke wins 3rd Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If Tulane scores more points, the 'Tulane wins 3rd Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If both teams score the same number of points, the 'Tie 3rd Quarter' market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Often, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set initial lines to balance their risk, and may incorporate a 'vig' or commission. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own analysis and information. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, they can influence the price here, potentially creating a discrepancy. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast probabilities, especially as an event approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each outcome – Tulane, Duke, or a tie – and the prices fluctuate based on supply and demand. As more people buy contracts for a particular outcome, the price of that contract increases, indicating a higher perceived probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current top outcome, as indicated by trader activity, is a 3rd quarter tie, though this can change rapidly as new information becomes available and traders adjust their positions.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be determined by which team – Tulane or Duke – has the higher score at the end of the 3rd quarter of the game. In the event of a tie score at the end of the 3rd quarter, the 'tie' outcome will be considered the winner. The official game results will be used to verify the outcome and settle the market.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Tulane or Duke would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team performance during the first half of the game, or even pre-game reports about coaching strategies, could also shift trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions, or even a significant shift in public perception based on social media trends, could also play a role in how this market behaves leading up to the end of the 3rd quarter.
