This set of markets focuses on predicting the total points scored by both Tulane and Duke during the third quarter of their college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the total points, allowing participants to bet on various levels of scoring intensity in that specific quarter.
The markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the third quarter of the Tulane vs Duke college football game scheduled for September 5, 2026. For each market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, 7.5, etc.), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from initial sportsbook lines which are often set by analysts. Sportsbooks may initially emphasize public perception or biases, whereas this market aggregates the views of many individual traders. Over time, prediction market prices tend to become more accurate as more information becomes available and more traders participate. It's common to see this market converge with sportsbook odds as the event approaches, but discrepancies can still arise due to differing opinions on potential game outcomes and scoring dynamics.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the 3rd quarter total points. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing the probability of the 'Over' outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy 'Over' contracts, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the market price reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, providing a real-time assessment of the likely 3rd quarter score.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 3rd quarter of the Tulane vs Duke game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics, specifically the combined points scored by both teams during the 3rd quarter. The market will pay out to those who correctly predicted whether the total points scored would be over or under the specified threshold at the time of resolution, based on the final official game data.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. News regarding key player injuries for either Tulane or Duke would likely have a significant impact, as would any changes in weather forecasts that could affect the scoring environment. Game-day developments, such as early scoring drives or defensive adjustments, could also cause the market to shift. Finally, any significant public information about team strategies or player matchups could also move the price as traders adjust their predictions based on new information.
