This set of markets tracks how many points each team scores in an upcoming college football game. Each market corresponds to a specific point threshold, and the outcome depends on whether the team's actual score exceeds that threshold.
The markets resolve based on the official final point totals for Troy and Utah State in their college football game scheduled for September 26, 2026. For each market, if the specified team scores more than the stated point threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set their lines based on internal models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own analysis. If a significant discrepancy exists, opportunities may arise for arbitrage, where traders can profit by simultaneously buying and selling across both venues. However, it’s important to note that prediction market odds are dynamic and can converge with sportsbook odds as more information becomes available and the event approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different team total outcomes, and the price of each contract reflects the market’s probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective belief of the crowd. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price of a contract indicates the implied probability of that team total being achieved, and traders aim to profit by accurately predicting the outcome and trading accordingly. The market's depth and liquidity can influence price movements.
This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final team totals for Troy and Utah State will be sourced from official game statistics, and the market will settle based on whether the combined total exceeds or falls below the relevant contract thresholds. Traders holding contracts on the correct outcome will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on incorrect outcomes will forfeit their investment. The resolution process ensures a transparent and verifiable outcome for all participants in this market.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Troy or Utah State would likely have a significant impact, as would updates on weather conditions expected during the game. Changes in coaching strategies or team performance in preceding games could also shift trader sentiment. Furthermore, large trading volume from informed participants could indicate new information or a change in expectations. Monitoring these signals and staying informed about the teams involved is crucial for understanding potential market movements before Sep 27, 2026.
