Please note, this market will resolve according to the The Numbers figures provided under Weekend Box Office Performance for the 3-day weekend (which typically includes Thursday's previews), regardless of whether domestic refers to only the USA, or to USA and Canada, etc. If there is ambiguity as to whether the resolution source's figures are final, this market will remain open until both https://www.boxofficemojo.com/ and https://www.the-numbers.com/ have confirmed their finalized figures. If there is no final data available by July 19, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, another credible resolution source will be chosen.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because traders incorporate real-time information, box office tracking data, and audience sentiment into their positions. While industry analysts may rely on historical patterns and studio guidance, this market aggregates the collective judgment of thousands of participants betting real money on the outcome. Analysts typically publish point estimates or ranges weeks in advance, whereas market prices adjust continuously as opening weekend results, social media buzz, and competitive releases shift trader expectations. Comparing the two approaches can reveal where consensus breaks down and highlight potential mispricings.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader positions into real-time probabilities. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome contract trades between 0 and 100 cents, with the price directly reflecting the implied likelihood that Toy Story 5's fourth weekend box office will fall within a specific range. Traders buy or sell shares based on their conviction, and the cumulative order flow determines the current odds. As new information emerges—weekend grosses, competitor performance, or industry developments—traders adjust positions, moving the price to reflect updated expectations.

This market resolves around Jul 12, 2026, once the fourth weekend box office figures for Toy Story 5 are finalized and verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing actual reported domestic box office revenue for that specific weekend against the predefined ranges or thresholds established in the market terms. Resolution typically occurs within days of the weekend's close, once studios and box office tracking services publish official numbers. Traders should monitor industry reporting channels and official announcements to anticipate the final settlement.

Several catalysts can shift market odds before resolution. Opening weekend performance sets the baseline for fourth-weekend projections, so strong or weak initial results will ripple through trader expectations. Competitor releases, holiday scheduling, and word-of-mouth momentum all influence repeat attendance. Major reviews, social media trends, and audience sentiment tracked through platforms like Twitter or Reddit can signal staying power. Box office tracking updates from industry analysts provide real-time signals that traders react to immediately. Additionally, broader entertainment news—casting announcements, franchise developments, or unexpected box office surprises from other films—may reshape how traders value Toy Story 5's longevity.
