This event tracks which team will score the first touchdown in an upcoming college football game. It includes scenarios where either team scores first or if no touchdown is scored at all during the game, including any overtime periods. The outcome depends purely on the game's live progression and scoring events.
The event determines which team, if any, scores the first touchdown in the Towson vs South Carolina college football game scheduled for September 12, 2026. If South Carolina scores the first touchdown—whether offensively, defensively, or via special teams, including in overtime—the market for South Carolina resolves to Yes. Similarly, if Towson scores the first touchdown under any of these conditions, its market resolves to Yes. If neither team scores a touchdown at any point in the game, including overtime, the "No team scores a TD" market resolves to Yes. Should the game be postponed but commence within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final official result. If the game does not start within this 48-hour window, all markets resolve to a fair price. The rules explicitly state that Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from initial sportsbook lines which may be influenced by factors like public perception or early betting action. Sportsbooks set odds based on their models and risk management, while this market allows anyone to trade on their belief about the outcome. Often, as an event approaches, prediction market prices become more efficient and accurate, incorporating a wider range of information than traditional betting venues. It’s common to see discrepancies, particularly before significant news breaks or public opinion shifts.
This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team scores the first touchdown in the Towson vs South Carolina game. The result will be based on official game statistics and play-by-play data. The platform relies on publicly available information to determine the winning outcome, ensuring transparency and accuracy in the resolution process.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. News regarding injuries to key players on either the Towson or South Carolina teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they favor one team’s offensive style, could also shift the odds. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team lineups could also move the market. Finally, any significant betting activity or large volume trades on Kalshi itself can indicate changing sentiment and drive price fluctuations.
