If the 2026 Tour De France is cancelled, postponed after August 9, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the UCI; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different trader bases and incentive structures. On Polymarket, odds are set by traders risking real capital, creating a market-driven price discovery mechanism. Sportsbooks, by contrast, set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins. This market's odds may lead or lag sportsbook lines depending on which venue attracts sharper information first. Comparing the two can reveal where smart money is positioning itself ahead of the race.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling shares that represent each rider's probability of winning the green jersey. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market price reflects the collective belief of all participants, with each trade updating the implied odds in real time. Liquidity and trading volume influence how quickly prices adjust to new information, and wider bid-ask spreads may appear during low-activity periods. This continuous price discovery mechanism ensures the market remains responsive to breaking news, rider form, and tactical developments leading up to the race.
This market resolves around Aug 9, 2026, once the 2026 Tour de France concludes and the green jersey winner is confirmed. The outcome will be verified against credible public sources reporting the final points classification standings. Resolution depends on the official race results and the rider who accumulates the most points across all stages. No adjustments are made after the final stage is complete and the winner is officially announced by race organizers.
Several catalysts can shift odds in this market before the race begins and during the event itself. Rider injuries, team roster announcements, and pre-race form in spring classics will influence trader positioning. Early-stage results during the Tour can dramatically repricing favorites if unexpected riders dominate the points competition. Weather, course design, and tactical team strategies also play roles. Major news about a contender's health, withdrawal, or standout performances in lead-up races will typically trigger sharp price movements as the market reprices its expectations.
