This market will resolve to "YES" if the cumulative total attendance across all 104 matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup exceeds 6,000,000. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "NO." FIFA's official attendance figures reflect the number of tickets scanned and spectators present within the stadium footprint for each match. If the 2026 FIFA World Cup is cancelled or postponed after August 31, 2026, 23:59 UTC, or no official cumulative total attendance figure is published and no clear consensus of credible reporting is available within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "NO.” The primary resolution source will be official information from FIFA.com; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Prediction markets and sportsbooks operate under different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit, while prediction markets like this one derive odds from trader consensus—each participant's real money stake reflects their genuine belief. For attendance forecasts, prediction market odds often incorporate granular data from ticket sales, venue capacity, historical turnout patterns, and regional interest that sportsbooks may weight differently or ignore entirely. This makes prediction market pricing particularly valuable for niche outcomes like total World Cup attendance, where specialized knowledge among traders can surface insights unavailable in traditional betting lines.
On Limitless, traders set the price by buying and selling shares that represent "Yes" (attendance exceeds 6 million) or "No" (attendance does not exceed 6 million) outcomes. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market price reflects the collective probability assigned by all active traders; as new information emerges—ticket sales reports, venue announcements, or macroeconomic shifts—traders adjust their positions, moving the odds in real time. This continuous price discovery mechanism ensures the market remains responsive to changing expectations about World Cup attendance throughout the trading period.
This market resolves around Jul 20, 2026, once the 2026 FIFA World Cup concludes and final attendance figures are verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by whether cumulative attendance across all tournament matches reaches or exceeds 6 million. Resolution hinges on official FIFA reporting and independent verification of total attendance data, ensuring an objective, transparent settlement that reflects actual fan participation across all venues and matches during the tournament.
Several catalysts could shift odds significantly. Ticket sales announcements and early booking trends signal demand strength. Venue capacity confirmations and scheduling details affect accessibility. Macroeconomic conditions—currency fluctuations, travel costs, regional recessions—influence fan ability to attend. Team qualification outcomes and star player injuries reshape perceived appeal. Weather patterns and infrastructure readiness in host cities impact logistics. Media coverage and sponsorship activity reflect tournament momentum. Additionally, comparable attendance data from recent World Cups and regional soccer events provide benchmarks traders use to recalibrate expectations as the tournament approaches.
