Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly diverges from the sportsbook's initial assessment. Prediction markets may also incorporate information that isn't readily available to sportsbooks, leading to more accurate forecasts.
