Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, all of which influence price discovery. Polymarket may reflect institutional or high-volume trader activity, while Predict could show retail or specialized participant preferences. Timing differences in information flow, platform-specific UI friction, and varying settlement rule interpretations also create temporary arbitrage windows. Monitoring both venues helps you identify whether price gaps reflect genuine disagreement or simply market microstructure effects.
Key catalysts include injury announcements affecting either team's roster, lineup changes, weather forecasts impacting playing conditions, and pre-game betting action from sharp money. Trades or roster moves in the days leading up to the game can shift trader positioning significantly. Real-time updates during the matchup itself—such as early scoring, pitching changes, or momentum swings—will drive sharp repricing. Monitoring team news, weather, and early-inning action provides the best early signals for anticipating market movement before resolution.
