Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity levels, and fee structures, all of which influence how prices evolve. Polymarket may have deeper liquidity in certain outcomes, allowing large trades to move prices less dramatically, while Kalshi might see faster repricing due to a smaller but more active user base. Arbitrage opportunities between the two venues can persist if transaction costs or withdrawal delays make it uneconomical to trade both sides simultaneously, so price gaps are normal and often reflect real friction in the market.
Key catalysts include roster updates, injury announcements, and recent team performance trends leading up to game day. Weather conditions at the stadium, bullpen availability, and starting pitcher matchups often trigger significant repricing as traders reassess probabilities. Live game action—early runs, defensive plays, or momentum shifts—will drive rapid price movement during the contest itself. Additionally, any late-breaking news about player availability or strategic decisions by either team can shift market sentiment sharply, so monitoring sports news and team communications is essential for staying ahead of price changes.
