PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's resolution logic is internally contradictory—all three possible outcomes (Toronto win, San Diego win, tie) resolve to Yes, rendering the market non-predictive and unresolvable. Additionally, the two platforms cite different game dates and times, creating ambiguity about which game is being referenced.Hero tip: Do not trade on Kalshi's version of this market due to logical impossibility. Polymarket's three-way structure (Toronto, San Diego, Draw) is the only coherent resolution framework. Before placing any trade, cross-reference the official MLB schedule on MLB.com to confirm the actual game date and time, as Kalshi lists Jul 10 at 9:40 PM EDT while Polymarket lists Jul 11 at 8:40 PM ET.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Market resolves to Yes if Toronto wins first 5 innings, Yes if San Diego wins first 5 innings, and Yes if they tie. This creates a logical contradiction where all outcomes map to the same resolution, making the market non-predictive. Scheduled for Jul 10, 2026 at 9:40 PM EDT.
  • Polymarket: Three separate binary markets: one resolves to Toronto Blue Jays if Toronto is ahead after 5 innings, one to San Diego Padres if San Diego is ahead, and one to Draw if tied. This is logically coherent and resolvable. Scheduled for July 11 at 8:40 PM ET. Includes postponement and cancellation protocols.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

In the upcoming MLB game between the Toronto Blue Jays and San Diego Padres, scheduled for July 11 at 8:40 PM ET: This market will resolve to "Toronto Blue Jays" if the Toronto Blue Jays is winning the game at the conclusion of the 5th inning. This market will resolve to "San Diego Padres" if the San Diego Padres is winning the game at the conclusion of the 5th inning. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50. To know when a postponed game will be played, please check the home team's schedule on MLB.com for the listed team and look for the game described as a makeup game. The primary resolution source for this market is the official final statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 24 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Kalshi

Resolution is determined by the score at the end of the fifth inning of the game originally scheduled for July 10, 2026 at 9:40 PM EDT. If Toronto has more runs than San Diego after five innings, the Toronto outcome resolves to Yes. If San Diego has more runs than Toronto after five innings, the San Diego outcome resolves to Yes. If both teams have scored an equal number of runs after five innings, the Tie outcome resolves to Yes and all team-specific outcomes resolve to No. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and resolves after the rescheduled game concludes, within two days of the original scheduled date.

Frequently asked questions

The Blue Jays vs. Padres first 5 innings market aggregates trader predictions across Polymarket and Kalshi, tracking which team will lead after the first five innings of play. This market captures early-game momentum and pitching performance, offering a shorter-duration alternative to full-game outcomes. Traders on both platforms are pricing their conviction on the opening phase of the matchup. The combined volume across venues reflects active interest in this specific game segment, with real-time odds updating as new information emerges.

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi operate on crowd-sourced pricing, where traders buy and sell shares to express their beliefs about outcomes. Unlike traditional sportsbooks, which set fixed odds and profit from the spread, prediction markets aggregate distributed knowledge and adjust prices continuously based on trading activity. This often produces sharper, more responsive odds that reflect real-time information. Sportsbooks may lag behind prediction market repricing, especially for niche props like first-five-inning outcomes, making this market a useful benchmark for comparing consensus expectations.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and risk appetites, which can create temporary price gaps on the same outcome. Polymarket and Kalshi also operate under distinct regulatory frameworks and fee structures, influencing how traders value positions. Market depth, order-flow timing, and platform-specific incentives further explain divergence. Arbitrage opportunities between venues may narrow these spreads, but differences often persist due to friction costs and the decentralized nature of prediction market pricing across independent platforms.

Starting lineups and pitcher announcements are primary catalysts, as they directly influence early-inning performance expectations. Injury reports, weather conditions, and recent team form all shape trader positioning ahead of first pitch. Live game action—early runs, defensive plays, and pitching effectiveness—will drive sharp repricing in real time. Betting market activity and sharp money flow on external sportsbooks can also signal information that prediction traders react to. Monitor pregame news and in-game developments closely, as this market's short five-inning window compresses the window for information to impact pricing.
