Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets let traders freely price outcomes based on their beliefs. This market may show a different implied probability than traditional sports betting sites, especially if one venue has sharper information or attracts different types of bettors. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd on each platform disagrees about the likelihood of a tie after five innings.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the cumulative positions of all participants; as new information emerges or sentiment shifts, the price adjusts in real time. Each outcome has a price between 0 and 100 cents, representing the implied probability that the Blue Jays and Red Sox will be tied after five innings. Higher prices indicate stronger market confidence in that outcome, while lower prices suggest traders view it as less likely.
This market resolves around Jun 16, 2026, once the game concludes and the score after five complete innings is verified. The outcome is determined by whether the two teams are tied or one team is ahead at that point. Resolution relies on credible public reporting of the final score through official MLB sources or major sports news outlets. Until that moment, traders can continue to buy and sell shares as new developments—injuries, weather, betting trends—influence their outlook.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before the game begins. Lineup announcements, starting pitcher changes, or injury updates to key players can alter expectations for early-inning scoring. Weather conditions at the stadium—wind speed, temperature, humidity—affect ball carry and offensive output. Betting action from sharp bettors or public money can also move prices. Once the game starts, early runs, defensive plays, and pitching changes during the first five innings will drive real-time trading and repricing as traders update their probability estimates.
