This group forecasts the outcome of a single NPB (Nippon Professional Baseball) game between the Tokyo Yakult Swallows and the Hiroshima Carp. The market resolves based on which team wins the game, or a 50/50 split if the game is canceled or ends in a tie.
In the upcoming NPB game, scheduled for September 13 at 5:00AM ET: If the Tokyo Yakult Swallows win, the market will resolve to "Tokyo Yakult Swallows". If the Hiroshima Carp win, the market will resolve to "Hiroshima Carp". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source will be official information from the NPB. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
The market resolves based on the result of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp vs Hanshin Tigers Japan NPB game originally scheduled for September 9, 2026, at 5:00 AM EDT. If Hiroshima Toyo Carp wins, their market resolves to Yes; if Hanshin Tigers win, their market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed or delayed, markets remain open until the rescheduled game concludes, provided it occurs within two days of the original date. If the game is canceled or rescheduled beyond two days, markets resolve to a fair price. A tied game results in both markets resolving at 50/50.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi may diverge due to several factors, including differing user bases, trading volumes, and market-making strategies. Each platform attracts a unique set of traders with varying levels of expertise and access to information. Furthermore, the liquidity and volume on each platform can influence price discovery. For example, a large trade on Polymarket might shift the odds significantly, while Kalshi might react more slowly due to lower volume. These differences create opportunities for arbitrage, but also reflect the independent assessments of each platform’s participants.
