Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract margin, while prediction markets aggregate decentralized trader beliefs in real time. On this market, odds may lead or lag sportsbook lines depending on information flow and trading volume. Prediction markets tend to be efficient at pricing tail events and shifts in sentiment, though sportsbooks may offer tighter spreads on high-volume fixtures. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus differs or where one venue has priced in information faster than the other.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing the outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the ratio of shares outstanding and recent trading pressure. As traders accumulate positions, the price adjusts algorithmically to incentivize balanced liquidity. Shares are fractional and priced between 0 and 1, with the sum of all outcome prices equaling 1. This continuous pricing model allows traders to enter and exit at transparent, real-time rates without waiting for a counterparty.

This market resolves around Jul 25, 2026, once the second half result is final and verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the official match result reported by the league or governing body. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing shares expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the match conclusion, pending confirmation of the final score and any official reviews or appeals. Early resolution is possible if the outcome becomes mathematically certain before the scheduled end time.

Key injury announcements, team news, or lineup changes released before kickoff could shift odds significantly. In-game momentum, early goals, or red cards during the first half may influence trader expectations for the second half outcome. Weather conditions, referee assignments, or last-minute tactical adjustments can also trigger repricing. Broader league developments or related fixture results may indirectly affect sentiment. Social media trends, expert commentary, and betting syndicate activity often precede visible price moves. Traders monitor all available information channels to anticipate shifts in conviction before they materialize on the order book.
