These markets track which LIV golfer will post the best score at the 2026 Open Championship, one of golf's four major tournaments. Each market corresponds to a specific LIV golfer and resolves based on who among LIV participants finishes with the lowest total strokes after completing the full tournament.
A player's market resolves to Yes if that player records the lowest total strokes among all LIV golfers who complete the full 2026 Open Championship tournament. To qualify for consideration, a player must complete all regulation holes; any player who withdraws before or after teeing off, is disqualified, or otherwise fails to complete all regulation holes will have their market resolve to No. In the event of a tie for the lowest score among LIV golfers at tournament conclusion, Yes positions pay $1/N (rounded down to the nearest cent) where N equals the number of tied participants, and No positions pay the remainder.
Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate dispersed information from traders with real money at stake. For this market, prediction odds may price LIV golfers differently than sportsbooks do, especially as new information emerges closer to the event. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus differs and highlight potential value opportunities.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-book trading, where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers in real time. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders profit by correctly predicting which LIV golfer will rank highest at the championship, with contract prices reflecting the collective probability estimate. The platform's transparent price discovery mechanism allows participants to enter or exit positions at any time before resolution, creating dynamic pricing that adjusts as new information—such as course conditions, player form, or injury updates—becomes available.
This market resolves around Jul 20, 2026, once The Open Championship concludes and final leaderboards are confirmed. The outcome is determined by identifying which LIV Golf player achieved the best finish in the tournament. Resolution is verified against credible public sources reporting the official results, ensuring accuracy and fairness for all traders.
Several catalysts can shift odds before Jul 20, 2026. Player injuries, recent tournament form, and course-fit analysis will influence trader sentiment as the event approaches. Weather forecasts and course setup details released by the championship organizers may favor certain playing styles associated with specific LIV competitors. Media coverage of player momentum, equipment changes, or mental preparation can also trigger repricing. Finally, any unexpected withdrawals or late-entry confirmations among LIV golfers will directly impact the competitive landscape and market valuations.
