On Polymarket and Kalshi, prices can vary because of differences in user bases, liquidity, and trading activity. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For example, one platform might attract more cricket enthusiasts who closely follow team news, while the other could reflect broader, less specialized betting interest. These distinct participant pools lead to variations in perceived probability, especially when recent practice performances or injury updates surface. Consequently, Polymarket and Kalshi may show divergent odds on this market throughout the event's lead-up.
