These markets evaluate how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Texas Tech and Oregon State. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific period.
The markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Texas Tech vs Oregon State college football game scheduled for September 12, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined score exceeds the stated threshold (2.5, 5.5, 7.5, 10.5, 12.5, 13.5, 16.5, 19.5, 20.5, 23.5, or 27.5 points), the respective market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Postponements that commence within 48 hours of the original start time are still valid, with resolution based on the final official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during regulation 4th quarter play count toward these markets.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may be influenced by factors like public betting biases. This market, however, allows individuals to express their own informed opinions, potentially leading to a more accurate assessment of the likely outcome. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public perception shifts closer to game time.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of a particular outcome – in this case, whether the total points scored in the 4th quarter will be over or under a certain threshold. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy 'yes' contracts (predicting over), the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism reflects the collective belief of all participants in the market.
This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 4th quarter of the Texas Tech vs Oregon State game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The total points scored in the 4th quarter will be the determining factor, and that information will be sourced from official game statistics. Traders holding contracts on the correct outcome will receive a payout, while those on the incorrect side will forfeit their stake.
Several factors could influence this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries for either Texas Tech or Oregon State would certainly have an impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team’s style of play, could also shift the odds. Even significant shifts in public sentiment, perhaps driven by pre-game analysis or social media buzz, can move the market as traders react to new information and adjust their predictions. Any developments impacting the expected scoring potential of either team are likely to be reflected in the price.
