Texas Super Kings and Seattle Orcas will compete in a Major League Cricket match on July 5, 2026. These markets track whether each team will exceed specific run thresholds during their innings, allowing bettors to wager on offensive performance levels.
Resolution is based on actual runs scored by each team in the match scheduled for July 5, 2026 at 5:30 PM EDT. If the match is cancelled before play begins or delayed more than 48 hours from the scheduled start, all markets resolve to fair market price as determined by the Exchange. If play begins but no official result is declared (including via DLS), markets resolve to fair market price except for statistics already definitively achieved, which resolve on recorded results. If the match is shortened with an official result declared (via DLS or ICC-approved method), statistical markets resolve based on actual recorded statistics only, with no projections or adjustments applied.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets like this one aggregate the beliefs of traders who have real money at stake. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper, more efficient pricing because traders profit directly from accuracy rather than from volume. However, sportsbook odds benefit from professional oddsmakers and live adjustment. Comparing both sources gives you a fuller picture of where consensus sits on team run totals.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers on run-total contracts. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current top outcome reflects trader conviction about whether the Orcas will exceed or fall short of the specified threshold. Prices move as new information arrives—injury reports, weather updates, or lineup changes can shift the odds within minutes. Liquidity and trading volume influence how quickly prices adjust, and wider spreads typically appear during low-activity windows.
This market resolves around Jul 6, 2026, once the game concludes and final run totals are verified. The outcome is confirmed against credible public sources to ensure accuracy. Until that point, prices will fluctuate based on pre-game developments, live game action if trading remains open, and trader expectations. Resolution is binary—the contract either settles in favor of one side or the other based on whether the actual run total meets the specified threshold.
Several catalysts can shift odds before the game begins. Roster announcements, such as key player injuries or unexpected lineup changes, often trigger sharp price moves. Weather forecasts matter significantly for run production—wind direction and temperature affect ball carry and overall scoring. Recent team performance, head-to-head matchups, and bullpen availability also influence trader positioning. As game time approaches, final betting action and any last-minute news can create volatility. Live game developments—early runs, pitching changes, or momentum swings—may keep this market active if trading extends into the event itself.
