Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, which can cause temporary price gaps. Polymarket and Kalshi may also have slightly different market designs or settlement rule interpretations that influence how traders value the first-five-inning outcome. Arbitrage traders often exploit these spreads, but differences can persist if one platform has deeper liquidity or attracts more informed participants on this specific event. Monitoring both helps you identify mispricings.
Injury announcements, lineup changes, or weather updates affecting playing conditions can shift trader sentiment significantly. Starting pitcher performance data, recent team form in early-inning scoring, and Vegas moneyline movement often precede prediction market repricing. Breaking news about player availability or field conditions typically triggers volume spikes and rapid odds adjustments. Monitor sports news feeds and team announcements in the hours before first pitch, as late-breaking information tends to move this market most sharply.
