Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. As a result, prediction markets can sometimes be more accurate forecasters of event outcomes, especially when there's significant public interest and a large volume of trading. The difference between these odds and sportsbook odds can therefore indicate where public opinion diverges from professional analysis.
