Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, which can push prices apart even on identical outcomes. Predict and Polymarket may also enforce different market rules, dispute resolution timelines, or position limits, causing traders to price in platform-specific risk premiums. Temporary liquidity imbalances on one venue can also widen spreads faster than on the other, creating brief windows where the same outcome trades at different odds across the two platforms.
Key catalysts include injury reports, lineup announcements, and weather conditions affecting play. Betting action and sharp money flowing into one side can shift odds quickly as game time nears. Live performance during the matchup—early runs, pitching changes, or momentum swings—will drive intraday repricing if in-game markets are active. Media coverage highlighting team form, head-to-head records, or recent trades can also influence trader positioning before the first pitch.
