Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks may set initial lines based on power rankings and expert analysis, but can be influenced by biases or attempts to balance action on both sides. This market, driven by individual traders on Polymarket, aggregates diverse perspectives and can quickly incorporate new information. While sportsbooks may offer more markets, prediction markets can sometimes provide more accurate probabilities, especially as the event approaches and more trading occurs. It’s worth comparing both to gain a comprehensive view.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event. Higher demand for shares in a particular outcome will drive up its price, indicating a greater perceived chance of success. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand amongst traders on Polymarket.
This market resolves around Sep 22, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
