PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi market exhibits logical contradiction where all three mutually exclusive outcomes (Tampa Bay win, Los Angeles Dodgers win, tie) are stated to resolve to Yes. Additionally, scheduled game times and dates diverge between platforms (Jun 16 10:10 PM EDT vs. Jun 17 3:10 PM ET), creating ambiguity about which game is being referenced.Hero tip: Do not trade the Kalshi market in its current form due to logical incoherence. Cross-reference the official MLB schedule for the Rays-Dodgers matchup to determine the correct date and time. Polymarket's three-outcome structure is resolvable, but confirm the June 17 date is accurate. Request clarification from Kalshi before placing trades.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Market states: If Tampa Bay wins first 5 innings, resolve Yes. If Los Angeles Dodgers wins first 5 innings, resolve Yes. If they tie, resolve Yes. This is logically impossible as these are mutually exclusive outcomes. Scheduled date/time: Jun 16, 2026 at 10:10 PM EDT.
  • Polymarket: Market offers three distinct outcomes: Tampa Bay Rays (if Rays ahead after 5 innings), Los Angeles Dodgers (if Dodgers ahead after 5 innings), Draw (if tied). Includes explicit handling for postponements (market remains open) and cancellations (50-50 split). Scheduled date/time: June 17 at 3:10 PM ET. Primary resolution source: official MLB final statistics.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

In the upcoming MLB game between the Tampa Bay Rays and Los Angeles Dodgers, scheduled for June 17 at 3:10 PM ET: This market will resolve to "Tampa Bay Rays" if the Tampa Bay Rays is winning the game at the conclusion of the 5th inning. This market will resolve to "Los Angeles Dodgers" if the Los Angeles Dodgers is winning the game at the conclusion of the 5th inning. To know when a postponed game will be played, please check the home team's schedule on MLB.com for the listed team and look for the game described as a makeup game. The primary resolution source for this market is the official final statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 24 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Kalshi

Resolution is determined by which team has the higher score at the end of the first five innings of the professional baseball game originally scheduled for June 16, 2026 at 10:10 PM EDT. If Tampa Bay has more runs after five innings, the Tampa Bay outcome resolves to Yes. If Los Angeles Dodgers has more runs after five innings, the Los Angeles Dodgers outcome resolves to Yes. If the score is tied after five innings, the Tie outcome resolves to Yes and all team outcomes resolve to No. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and resolves after the rescheduled game concludes within two days.

Frequently asked questions

The First 5 Innings Winner market aggregates trader positions across Polymarket and Kalshi, tracking which team bettors expect to lead after the first five innings of this matchup. Rather than predicting the full-game outcome, this market isolates early-game momentum and pitching performance. Traders on both platforms price their views independently, creating a real-time consensus view of early-inning advantage. The dashboard displays current odds, recent volume, and historical price movement, helping traders monitor how market sentiment shifts as game time approaches and new information emerges.

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi derive odds directly from trader supply and demand, whereas traditional sportsbooks set lines based on statistical models and manage risk through margin. Prediction market prices often reflect real-time sentiment and can move more fluidly in response to breaking news or lineup changes. Sportsbooks typically adjust lines more cautiously to protect their book. For this market, comparing the implied probability across platforms to pregame sportsbook odds on first-five-inning outcomes can reveal where traders see value or disagreement with conventional oddsmakers.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, which can cause temporary price gaps. Polymarket and Kalshi may also have slightly different market designs or settlement rule interpretations, leading to divergent odds on the same event. Additionally, traders on one platform may react faster to news or have different risk appetites, causing one side to move ahead of the other. These spreads typically narrow closer to resolution as arbitrageurs exploit mispricings, but they create trading opportunities for alert participants.

Lineup announcements, starting pitcher confirmations, and injury reports can shift odds significantly before first pitch. Weather conditions, ballpark factors, and recent team performance trends also influence early-inning expectations. Real-time game events—such as early runs, errors, or pitching changes—will drive sharp price moves once play begins. Trader activity and volume spikes often precede or follow major news, so monitoring both this market and sports news outlets helps identify inflection points. Close attention to pregame betting patterns can reveal where sharp money is positioning.
