PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi market contains a logical contradiction where all three mutually exclusive outcomes (Rays win, Dodgers win, tie) resolve to Yes, making the market fundamentally unresolvable. Polymarket offers three distinct, mutually exclusive binary markets with proper resolution logic.Hero tip: Avoid trading Kalshi until the platform clarifies whether this is a documentation error or intentional market design. Polymarket markets are logically consistent and resolvable. If you hold Kalshi positions, contact support immediately for clarification on how the market will actually settle.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Market structure contains logical contradiction. All three possible outcomes (Tampa Bay wins first 5 innings, Los Angeles Dodgers wins first 5 innings, or tie in first 5 innings) are stated to resolve to Yes. Quote: 'If Tampa Bay and Los Angeles D tie... then the market resolves to Yes. If Tampa Bay wins... then the market resolves to Yes. If Los Angeles D wins... then the market resolves to Yes.' This makes the market unhedgeable and unresolvable.
  • Polymarket: Three separate binary markets with mutually exclusive outcomes. Market 1 resolves to Tampa Bay Rays if Rays ahead after 5 innings. Market 2 resolves to Los Angeles Dodgers if Dodgers ahead after 5 innings. Market 3 resolves to Draw if tied after 5 innings. Quote: 'This market will resolve to Tampa Bay Rays if... winning... This market will resolve to Los Angeles Dodgers if... winning... If the game is tied... this market will resolve to Draw.' Logically sound structure.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi operate on peer-to-peer pricing, where traders themselves set odds through supply and demand rather than oddsmakers. This often produces tighter, more reactive pricing than traditional sportsbooks, especially for niche outcomes like first-five-inning winners. Sportsbooks typically build in larger margins and adjust more slowly to late-breaking information. Prediction market prices tend to reflect crowd wisdom across a distributed network of participants, while sportsbook odds balance liability management with profit targets. For this specific matchup, comparing this market's implied probabilities to your preferred sportsbook can reveal value opportunities.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, which naturally creates price variation. Polymarket and Kalshi use distinct market mechanisms—one relies on continuous automated market makers, the other on order books—leading to different price discovery speeds. User bases may also weight early-inning factors differently; some traders prioritize bullpen depth, others focus on starting pitcher form. Arbitrage opportunities occasionally emerge between platforms, though transaction costs and withdrawal delays typically prevent perfect convergence. Monitoring both venues reveals which factors the broader prediction market community considers most influential.

Late injury reports, bullpen availability updates, and weather conditions at game time are primary catalysts. Starting pitcher form, recent offensive trends, and head-to-head early-inning performance history all influence trader positioning. Lineup announcements closer to first pitch can shift sentiment, particularly if key hitters are benched or elevated. Market momentum itself—large trades or sudden volume spikes—often triggers cascading repricing as traders react to new information. Monitoring sports news, team social media, and live pre-game commentary will help you anticipate moves before they fully price in.
