Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader consensus—participants who profit or lose based on accuracy. This market aggregates the collective judgment of traders betting real money, which can sometimes reveal insights that lag in conventional betting lines. Comparing the two can highlight where public sentiment and professional oddsmakers disagree on the outcome.

On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. The price of each share reflects the implied probability that outcome will occur, with prices adjusting in real time as trades execute. Higher trading volume typically narrows the spread between bid and ask prices, making the market more efficient. Traders profit by correctly predicting which team will hit the most sixes, and losses occur when their prediction proves incorrect.

This market resolves around Jul 21, 2026, once the Serbia vs Estonia match concludes and the final sixes count is verified. The outcome is determined by comparing the total number of sixes hit by each team during the match, with the winner being whichever team struck more. Resolution is confirmed once the event result is verifiable from credible public reporting of the match. Early resolution may occur if one outcome becomes mathematically impossible before the match ends.

Several factors can shift this market significantly before resolution. Team roster announcements, injury updates, or late lineup changes can alter expectations about batting depth and power-hitting capability. Weather conditions on match day—wind speed and direction, cloud cover—affect how far the ball travels and the likelihood of sixes. Recent form and head-to-head records may influence trader positioning. As the match begins, live action will drive sharp price moves: early sixes, momentum swings, and the composition of batsmen at the crease all provide real-time signals that reshape market odds.
