PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's match winner market contains a logical contradiction: both Panama winning and Bermuda winning are stated to resolve to Yes, making simultaneous resolution impossible. This represents a data integrity failure that renders the market fundamentally unresolvable.Hero tip: Avoid trading Kalshi's match winner market until the platform corrects the resolution logic. The market as currently described cannot be settled fairly. Polymarket's equivalent market is clearly defined and safe to trade. Toss winner and match completion markets on both platforms are consistent and resolvable.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Match winner resolves to the team declared winner by ESPN Cricinfo based on on-field result, DLS/DRS, penalties, Super Over, or forfeit. Ties without tiebreak resolve 50-50. Abandoned/No Result resolves 50-50. Clear binary logic with defined edge cases.
  • Kalshi: Match winner market states both Panama and Bermuda winning resolve to Yes, with no resolution path for the opposite outcome or edge cases. This creates a logical impossibility where the market cannot be settled to either Yes or No.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the cricket match between Bermuda and Panama scheduled for June 25 2026 in T20 World Cup Sub Regional Americas Qualifier. This market resolves according to the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Kalshi

Resolution depends on the official result declared by the governing body. If either team wins, the market resolves to Yes for that team. If the match ends in a tie, draw, no result, abandonment, or cancellation with no official winner declared, all markets resolve to $0.50. Forfeits, disqualifications, or concessions occurring before the match begins result in $0.50 resolution; if they occur after play has begun and an official winner is declared, the market resolves based on that result. If play begins but insufficient play occurs to determine an official result, all markets resolve to $0.50.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like these operate on real-money trading, where participants buy and sell shares tied to outcomes. Unlike traditional sportsbooks that set fixed odds and take a house margin, prediction markets derive prices from continuous supply and demand. This often produces sharper, more efficient pricing because traders have direct financial incentive to identify mispriced outcomes. Sportsbooks may lag behind market-discovered odds, especially as new information emerges closer to match day. Comparing this market's implied probabilities to major sportsbook lines can reveal value opportunities for informed bettors.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform operates independent order books and attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and risk tolerances. Kalshi and Polymarket may have different fee structures, user bases, and settlement mechanics that influence how participants price the same event. Arbitrage traders typically exploit these gaps, but temporary divergences persist due to liquidity constraints or information asymmetries on one venue. Monitoring both platforms helps you identify which is pricing this market more efficiently and where edge may exist.
