On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker (AMM) system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome in the most sixes market has a price between 0 and 1 (or 0–100 cents), representing the collective probability assigned by the market. As traders accumulate positions, the price adjusts algorithmically to reflect new supply and demand. Liquidity providers earn fees from trades, incentivizing deep order books. The final price at resolution reflects the aggregate belief of all participants, making it a real-time consensus estimate of which team will ultimately hit more sixes.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before resolution. Team announcements regarding player injuries, roster changes, or tactical adjustments will influence expectations around batting aggression and six-hitting potential. Weather forecasts—particularly wind speed and cloud cover—affect ball carry and boundary likelihood. Venue conditions, pitch reports, and toss outcomes can favor aggressive batting or defensive bowling. Early match momentum, such as a team losing quick wickets or posting a large total, may prompt traders to reprice the probability of one team hitting more sixes. Real-time match commentary and live scoring also drive sentiment as the contest unfolds.
