PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Polymarket requires both toss and match victory for non-Draw resolution; Kalshi requires only match victory. These are distinct market structures with overlapping but non-identical outcome spaces.Hero tip: Polymarket's 'Toss Match Double' is a higher-barrier bet than Kalshi's match-winner market. Approximately 50% of match outcomes will result in toss-match mismatches, pushing Polymarket toward Draw. If you believe one team will win the match, Kalshi offers direct exposure; Polymarket requires you to also predict the toss correctly. Arbitrage risk exists if one platform misprice the compound probability.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Compound resolution: England wins only if England wins BOTH toss and match; India wins only if India wins BOTH toss and match; all other outcomes (including toss-match mismatches, ties without tiebreak, cancellations) resolve to Draw. Source: ESPN Cricinfo official toss and match result.
  • Kalshi: Simple match-winner resolution: Yes if India wins the match OR if England wins the match. No toss condition. Tiebreak winners (e.g., Super Over) count as match winners. No explicit handling of cancellations or ties without tiebreak.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Polymarket

This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between England and India scheduled for 2026-07-04 in T20 Series England vs India. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to England will be considered correct if England is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to India will be considered correct if India is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Kalshi

This market covers the England vs India men's T20 International cricket match originally scheduled for July 4, 2026 at 9:30 AM EDT. Resolution is based on the official match result declared by the governing body. If the match ends in a tie, draw, no result, abandonment, or cancellation with no official winner declared, all markets resolve to $0.50. In cases of forfeit, disqualification, or concession occurring before the match begins, markets resolve to $0.50. If such events occur after play has begun and an official winner is declared, the market resolves accordingly. If play commences but insufficient play occurs to determine an official result, all markets resolve to $0.50.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price uncertainty differently. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract margin, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous order flow. This market reflects pure trader conviction without the house edge embedded in sportsbook spreads. Prediction odds often lead sportsbook moves because traders respond faster to breaking news, injury reports, or weather shifts. Comparing this market's implied probability to your preferred sportsbook can reveal value: if prediction traders are more bullish or bearish than bookmakers, that gap signals potential mispricing worth investigating before placing bets.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Platform differences in liquidity, user base, and trading mechanics drive price splits. Polymarket and Kalshi attract distinct trader demographics and operate under different regulatory frameworks, creating independent order books. Lower liquidity on one venue can amplify volatility and widen spreads, while larger traders may move prices differently depending on where they concentrate volume. Time-zone activity, platform-specific incentives, and fee structures also influence how quickly each platform reprices in response to news. Monitoring both venues reveals arbitrage signals and helps you execute at the tightest available odds.

Key catalysts include team roster announcements, injury updates, and weather forecasts for match day. Recent form, head-to-head records, and venue conditions heavily influence trader sentiment. Major player absences or late-breaking lineup changes can trigger sharp repricing across both platforms. Media narratives around momentum, captain decisions, and toss strategy also shift conviction. Monitor official team social channels, cricket news outlets, and pre-match press conferences for developments. Sudden volume spikes on either platform often signal informed traders acting on fresh intelligence, making them early warning signs of directional moves before the match begins.
