Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional sportsbook lines because they aggregate trader sentiment rather than relying on oddsmakers' models. This market may price certain batters differently than conventional betting venues, reflecting real-time crowd intelligence and dynamic risk assessment. Sportsbooks typically adjust odds to balance liability, while prediction markets respond directly to participant conviction. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus differs, though prediction markets excel at capturing emerging information and shifting expectations as the series unfolds.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker mechanism, with each outcome's probability displayed as a percentage. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The top batter outcome currently reflects trader positioning and recent activity on the platform. Prices adjust in real time as participants buy and sell shares, creating a continuous discovery process. Higher prices indicate stronger collective confidence in that batter's chances, while lower prices suggest skepticism or reduced interest in that particular outcome.
