This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire scheduled for 2026-07-12 in T20 Blast. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Yorkshire will be considered correct if Yorkshire is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Nottinghamshire will be considered correct if Nottinghamshire is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and audiences. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, incorporating margin. Prediction markets, by contrast, are driven by trader consensus and real-money incentives to forecast accurately. For this market, prediction market pricing may reflect sharper or more granular sentiment than traditional sportsbooks, especially as new information emerges closer to the event. Comparing the two can reveal where public opinion and professional oddsmakers disagree on the toss outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each possible toss outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the ratio of liquidity allocated to it; as traders buy shares of one outcome, its price rises and the competing outcome's price falls. This continuous repricing ensures the market remains responsive to new information and trader conviction. The implied probability of each outcome can be derived directly from the current price, giving you a transparent view of market expectations at any moment.
This market resolves around Jul 19, 2026, once the T20 Blast match between Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire has been played and the toss outcome is verified against credible public sources. The resolution hinges on the official result of the coin toss as recorded by the match officials and confirmed through reliable sports reporting. Traders holding positions on the correct toss outcome will receive their payout once the event is finalized and the market settles. Until that point, prices will fluctuate as traders update their expectations based on team news, conditions, and other relevant signals.
Several factors may shift trader sentiment before this market closes. Changes in team composition, injury updates, or weather forecasts could influence perceptions of which captain might be favored in the toss. Broader betting market activity or sharp money flowing into related markets may also ripple through this one. Media commentary, historical toss patterns, or venue-specific conditions could prompt traders to adjust their positions. As the match date approaches and more information becomes public, expect increased volatility and volume as traders refine their predictions closer to kickoff.
