This market refers to which team's player records the highest individual run total in the cricket match between Yorkshire and Leicestershire scheduled for 2026-07-05 in T20 Blast. This market resolves according to the finalized match statistics as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Yorkshire will be considered correct if the highest individual score in the match is recorded exclusively by a player from Yorkshire. The outcome corresponding to Leicestershire will be considered correct if the highest individual score is recorded exclusively by a player from Leicestershire. If the highest individual score is shared by at least one player from each team, the market will resolve to Draw. The market will resolve according to which team's player records the highest individual run total regardless of if the match is not competed (e.g. Due to weather conditions). DLS/DRS adjustments and any other on-field rulings affecting batting statistics are treated as ordinary data. If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without official batting statistics being recorded, the market will resolve Draw. If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and official statistics are available.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets are priced by traders who profit from accurate forecasts. This market aggregates the collective judgment of many participants rather than a single operator's margin. Prediction markets tend to adjust faster to breaking news—such as late team announcements or weather changes—because traders can instantly buy or sell positions. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal whether the crowd is pricing the top batter differently than professional oddsmakers, sometimes offering value for informed bettors.
On Polymarket, traders set prices for each batter by buying and selling shares, with the current market price reflecting the collective probability the crowd assigns to that player finishing as the match's leading run-scorer. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share trades between 0 and 1 (or 0% to 100%), and the cost of a share equals its implied probability. As new information arrives—such as confirmed lineups or injury news—traders adjust their positions, moving prices up or down. The market's depth and liquidity determine how quickly prices respond to these shifts, and larger trades can cause sharper swings if order flow is thin.
This market resolves around Jul 12, 2026, once the T20 Blast match between Yorkshire and Leicestershire concludes and the final run totals are verified. The outcome is determined by identifying which batter scored the most runs across both innings of the fixture. Resolution is confirmed once credible public sources—such as official match records or major sports data providers—publish the final scorecard. Early or incomplete resolutions are avoided; the market waits for complete, official verification to ensure accuracy and fairness to all traders.
Several catalysts can shift odds in this market before play begins. Confirmed team lineups and batting order announcements often trigger sharp repricing, especially if a star batter is dropped or promoted. Injury reports or late withdrawals can eliminate contenders or elevate backup players' chances. Weather forecasts—particularly wind, rain, or humidity—affect pitch behavior and may favor certain batting styles. Venue conditions, such as outfield dimensions or recent pitch reports, influence run-scoring potential. Pre-match commentary from analysts or team insiders can sway trader sentiment. Once the match starts, early performance—quick wickets, aggressive batting, or bowling dominance—will cause rapid repricing as the live outcome becomes clearer.
