Description

This event group covers a T20 Blast cricket match between Worcestershire and Somerset scheduled for June 28, 2026. The markets track a 'Toss Match Double' outcome, meaning both the pre-match coin toss result AND the final match result must align for a team to win. Kalshi's markets resolve to Yes if either team wins the match alone, while Polymarket requires both toss and match wins for a team outcome, with all other scenarios resolving to Draw.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi resolves on match outcome alone (binary: either team wins = Yes), while Polymarket requires both toss and match outcomes to match for a team resolution, with all misaligned or no-result scenarios resolving to Draw. This is a scope/definition divergence, not a data integrity failure.Hero tip: Kalshi markets are simpler and will resolve Yes more frequently (any match winner). Polymarket markets are compound events with higher barrier to team resolution—the toss must also go the same way. If you believe one team will win the match but are uncertain about the toss, Kalshi offers cleaner exposure. Polymarket is better for high-conviction 'double' bets where you expect both toss and match alignment.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Match-outcome-only binary. Resolves Yes if Somerset wins the match, and separately Yes if Worcestershire wins the match. No mention of toss. Treats the match result as the sole settlement criterion.
  • Polymarket: Compound toss+match outcome. Worcestershire outcome requires Worcestershire to win both toss and match. Somerset outcome requires Somerset to win both toss and match. All other scenarios (including toss/match mismatch, ties with no Super Over, cancellations, no official winner) resolve to Draw.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Worcestershire and Somerset scheduled for 2026-06-28 in T20 Blast. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Worcestershire will be considered correct if Worcestershire is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Somerset will be considered correct if Somerset is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Kalshi

Resolution depends on the match outcome as declared by the governing body. If either team wins, the corresponding market resolves to Yes. If the match ends in a tie, draw, no result, abandonment, or cancellation with no official winner declared, all markets resolve to $0.50. Forfeits, disqualifications, or concessions occurring before play begins result in $0.50 resolution; if they occur after play has begun and an official winner is declared, resolution follows that result. If play commences but insufficient play occurs to determine an official result, all markets resolve to $0.50.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi are driven by peer-to-peer trading rather than bookmaker margins, often resulting in tighter spreads and faster price discovery than traditional sportsbooks. On this market, traders continuously adjust odds based on new information, team news, and betting flow. Sportsbooks typically build in a 4–6% margin and move lines more slowly. Prediction market prices tend to reflect genuine crowd belief, making them a useful benchmark for comparing against fixed sportsbook lines on the same toss outcome.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform operates under distinct rule sets, liquidity pools, and user bases, creating natural price variance. Polymarket may attract traders focused on binary outcomes, while Kalshi draws those comfortable with fractional or draw-inclusive structures. Funding and order-book depth also vary; thinner liquidity on one venue can widen spreads relative to the other. Geographic trader concentration and platform-specific incentives further fragment pricing. These gaps typically narrow as match time approaches and arbitrageurs exploit the spread, but they persist as long as information flow and user behavior remain decoupled.
