This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Somerset and Durham scheduled for 2026-06-26 in T20 Blast, Women. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Somerset will be considered correct if Somerset is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Durham will be considered correct if Durham is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set fixed lines designed to balance liability and extract margin, while prediction markets allow traders to continuously adjust prices based on new information and crowd belief. This market aggregates real-time trader conviction, which can lead to sharper or earlier price moves than traditional sportsbooks, especially as match day approaches. However, sportsbook odds remain useful as a reference point; significant gaps between the two can signal where traders see value or where public perception differs from professional oddsmakers.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker (AMM) model where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share fluctuates based on supply and demand; as more traders buy a particular outcome, its price rises, and vice versa. This mechanism ensures continuous liquidity and transparent pricing without reliance on a counterparty or fixed odds. Traders profit by buying low and selling high, or by correctly predicting the outcome and holding shares to resolution. The AMM design encourages price discovery and reflects the collective confidence of all market participants in real time.
This market resolves around Jul 3, 2026, once the Somerset vs Durham Women's T20 Blast match has concluded and the toss result is verified. The outcome is confirmed against credible public sources, including official match records and broadcast coverage. Resolution is binary: the market settles based on which team won the coin toss at the start of play. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout automatically upon resolution, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Early resolution is possible if the match is cancelled or postponed under circumstances that affect the toss itself.
Several factors can shift prices in this market before Jul 3, 2026. Team news—such as injury updates, lineup changes, or weather forecasts—may influence trader expectations about toss strategy or captain decisions. Social media sentiment, expert commentary, and historical head-to-head toss records can also sway the crowd. As match day draws closer, late-breaking information about pitch conditions or venue-specific factors often triggers volatility. Additionally, large trades or sudden order-book imbalances can create momentum shifts. Finally, if either team announces a change in leadership or toss philosophy, traders may rapidly reprice their positions based on perceived strategic advantage.
