This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Hampshire and The Blaze scheduled for 2026-07-08 in T20 Blast, Women. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Hampshire will be considered correct if Hampshire is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to The Blaze will be considered correct if The Blaze is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders who profit from accuracy. Sportsbooks typically incorporate sharp professional input and adjust for liability, whereas this market aggregates distributed trader beliefs in real time. For major sporting events, prediction market prices frequently align closely with sportsbook consensus, but differences can emerge when traders spot value or when information asymmetries exist. Comparing the two can reveal where the market sees edge.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker or order-book mechanism, with each outcome assigned a probability-weighted price between 0 and 1. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Buyers and sellers submit orders, and the platform matches them in real time, with prices adjusting as new information and trades flow in. The toss double outcome is priced independently based on trader conviction, so you'll see the odds shift as match conditions change, team news emerges, or betting patterns evolve. Liquidity depth determines how easily you can enter or exit a position at the displayed price.
This market resolves around Jul 15, 2026, once the Hampshire versus The Blaze match concludes and the toss double outcome is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution hinges on whether the predicted toss result and subsequent match condition align as specified in the market definition. Until that point, traders can buy and sell positions freely. After the event is confirmed through reliable sources, the market settles to either 1 or 0 based on whether the outcome occurred, and traders receive their payouts accordingly.
Several catalysts can shift prices in this market before resolution. Team news—such as player injuries, lineup changes, or tactical announcements—often triggers repricing as traders reassess probabilities. Weather forecasts closer to match day can influence toss-related outcomes. Betting volume and sharp money flowing into one side may signal informed conviction and move odds. Social media sentiment and analyst commentary can sway retail traders. Historical head-to-head data or recent form updates may also prompt position adjustments. As the match date approaches, real-time information and late-breaking developments typically drive the most volatile price swings.
