This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Hampshire and Durham scheduled for 2026-07-17 in T20 Blast, Women. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Hampshire will be considered correct if Hampshire is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Durham will be considered correct if Durham is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract margin, while prediction markets are driven by trader consensus and real-money risk. This market may show tighter or wider spreads than sportsbooks depending on trading volume and conviction among participants. Comparing the two can reveal where one venue perceives edge relative to the other, though both aim to price the underlying event accurately over time.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker or order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for each outcome. The clearing price reflects the marginal trade, and as new information emerges—team news, weather updates, or historical data—traders adjust their positions, moving the price. Liquidity providers and arbitrageurs help narrow spreads, making the market more efficient. The final price visible on the dashboard represents the consensus forecast of all active traders at that moment.
This market resolves around Jul 24, 2026, once the toss outcome is confirmed and verifiable from credible public sources. The result is determined by the official coin toss conducted before the match, with the winning call recorded by match officials and broadcasters. Traders holding positions aligned with the verified outcome receive their payout, while opposing positions expire worthless. Resolution is typically swift after the toss is completed and publicly announced.
Market prices may shift based on team news, injury updates, or late lineup changes that influence toss strategy or captain preference. Weather forecasts and pitch reports can sway trader expectations about which outcome favors batting or bowling first. Social media sentiment, expert commentary, and historical head-to-head toss records may also prompt position adjustments. As the match start time approaches, any official announcements or captain interviews discussing toss intentions could trigger repricing. Ultimately, the market will stabilize once the toss is called and the result is locked in.
