This market resolves according to the finalized match statistics as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Durham will be considered correct if Durham is officially recorded as hitting more sixes than Essex. The outcome corresponding to Essex will be considered correct if Essex is officially recorded as hitting more sixes than Durham. If both teams record the same number of sixes, the market will resolve to "Draw". The market will resolve according to the team that hits the greater number of sixes in the match regardless of if the match is not competed (e.g. Due to weather conditions)/ Only sixes scored from the bat (off any delivery- legal or not) will count towards the total sixes. Overthrows and extras do not count. Sixes scored in a super over do not count. In First Class games, only first innings sixes will count. If the match ends in a tie, draw, no result, abandonment, or cancellation with no official winner declared, all markets resolve to $0.50. Forfeits, disqualifications, or concessions occurring before play begins result in $0.50 resolution; if they occur after play has begun and an official winner is declared, resolution follows that result. If play commences but insufficient play occurs to determine an official result, all markets resolve to $0.50.
Prediction market odds reflect live trader sentiment and are updated continuously as new information emerges, whereas traditional sportsbooks set fixed lines designed to balance action on both sides. Prediction markets often react faster to breaking news—injuries, weather, lineup changes—because traders profit directly from accuracy. Sportsbooks, by contrast, prioritize managing liability and may lag behind real-time developments. For this match, comparing this market's implied probabilities to your preferred sportsbook can reveal value opportunities, especially if one venue has slower information flow than the other.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, regulatory frameworks, and liquidity pools, which can cause temporary price gaps. Kalshi and Polymarket may also use different market structures—one might offer binary outcomes while the other includes draw or tie options—affecting how traders allocate capital. Arbitrage opportunities sometimes emerge when one platform prices a scenario higher or lower than the other, though active traders typically close these gaps quickly. Monitoring both venues helps you spot mispricings and understand where the broader prediction market consensus truly lies.
Key catalysts include team lineup announcements, injury updates to power hitters, weather forecasts affecting pitch conditions, and recent form data showing which batters are in hot streaks. Toss results and ground conditions on match day often shift odds significantly, as do early overs in the actual game—a flurry of sixes in the opening powerplay can reshape trader expectations for the final tally. Historical head-to-head sixes data and venue-specific trends also influence positioning. Live match momentum shifts will drive the most dramatic repricing as traders react to each boundary.
