This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Sussex and Essex scheduled for 2026-07-03 in T20 Blast. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Sussex will be considered correct if Sussex is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Essex will be considered correct if Essex is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and audiences. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets let traders freely price outcomes based on their beliefs. For a toss prediction, sportsbooks may offer fixed odds with built-in margins, whereas this market reflects dynamic trader sentiment in real time. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd sees edge or where public perception differs from bookmaker pricing, though both aim to approximate true probability.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that adjusts odds based on the volume and direction of trades. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy YES or NO shares at prices that reflect the current probability; as more capital flows into one side, the price moves to incentivize the opposite outcome. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures liquidity and prevents extreme imbalances. The spread between bid and ask prices tightens as trading volume increases, rewarding active participation and allowing you to enter or exit positions efficiently.
This market resolves around Jul 10, 2026, once the T20 Blast fixture between Sussex and Essex has concluded and the toss result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the official coin toss conducted before play begins. Resolution occurs shortly after the match officials confirm the toss winner, ensuring all traders have access to the same authoritative information. Early resolution is possible if the toss is announced in advance through official team or league channels.
Several factors can shift odds before the toss occurs. Official team news, lineup announcements, or weather forecasts may influence traders' expectations about which captain might call heads or tails. Social media sentiment, betting syndicate activity, or expert commentary on toss strategy can also drive price movement. As match day draws closer, increased trading volume typically narrows the spread and sharpens pricing. Any last-minute venue changes or scheduling adjustments could trigger repricing, though the toss outcome itself remains fundamentally unpredictable until the coin is flipped.
