This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Surrey and Sussex scheduled for 2026-07-08 in T20 Blast. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Surrey will be considered correct if Surrey is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Sussex will be considered correct if Sussex is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders wagering real capital on their beliefs about the outcome. Traders have strong incentives to identify mispricing, which can make prediction markets more efficient at incorporating new information. However, sportsbooks may adjust faster during live events due to their professional risk management. Comparing the two can reveal where public opinion and professional oddsmakers disagree on the toss outcome.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling shares that represent each possible toss outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market price reflects the aggregate belief of all participants—higher prices indicate stronger confidence in that outcome. As new information emerges or sentiment shifts, traders adjust their positions, causing prices to move in real time. This continuous repricing mechanism means the odds you see are always responsive to the latest thinking from the trading community, making the market a dynamic gauge of toss probability.
This market resolves around Jul 15, 2026, once the toss result from the Surrey vs Sussex T20 Blast match is verified against credible public sources. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official toss call and which team wins it, as reported by the match officials and broadcast coverage. Until that moment, traders can continue to buy and sell positions, and prices may shift as the match start approaches and any relevant team or weather updates emerge. Resolution is automatic once the event data is finalized.
Several factors could shift trader sentiment before the toss occurs. Weather updates—particularly wind direction and strength—often influence toss strategy and team preferences, prompting position changes. Team news, such as last-minute injuries or lineup announcements, can alter how captains approach the coin toss decision. Venue conditions and historical toss patterns at the ground may also sway expectations. Additionally, any official statements from either team about their toss strategy, or shifts in betting patterns on match outcomes, could trigger repricing as traders reassess the likelihood of each toss result.
