This market refers to the cricket match between Surrey and Essex scheduled for July 12 2026 in T20 Blast. This market resolves according to the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets let traders freely price outcomes based on their beliefs. This market aggregates the collective judgment of participants who have real money at stake, which can sometimes reveal insights that sportsbooks have not yet fully priced in. Comparing the two can highlight where the crowd sees value or where conventional odds may lag emerging information.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into continuous odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy and sell shares representing different outcomes, and the price of each share reflects the implied probability of that result. As more capital flows into one outcome, its price rises and the competing outcome's price falls, creating a self-balancing system. This mechanism ensures liquidity and allows you to enter or exit positions at transparent, real-time rates throughout the trading window.
This market resolves around Jul 19, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official final score and result of the event. Until that point, prices will fluctuate as new information—such as team news, weather updates, or live match developments—influences trader expectations. Resolution is automatic once the event outcome is confirmed, and all positions settle according to the final result.
Several catalysts can shift prices in this market before it resolves. Team news such as player injuries, roster changes, or lineup announcements often trigger sharp moves. Weather conditions on match day, pitch reports, and recent form or head-to-head records can all influence trader positioning. Live match developments—early wickets, batting momentum, or tactical shifts—will drive continuous repricing as the game unfolds. Major betting syndicates or sharp money entering the market can also signal conviction and move odds significantly.
