This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Somerset and Worcestershire scheduled for 2026-07-12 in T20 Blast. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Somerset will be considered correct if Somerset is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Worcestershire will be considered correct if Worcestershire is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets price outcomes based on trader belief and real-money commitment. For this market, prediction market participants may price the toss differently than sportsbooks because they face direct financial consequences for accuracy. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus differs, though prediction markets tend to aggregate dispersed information efficiently over time.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each toss outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the ratio of shares outstanding and adjusts dynamically as trades flow in. Traders profit by buying underpriced outcomes and selling overpriced ones, which naturally pushes prices toward fair value. This continuous repricing mechanism means the odds you see are always responsive to the latest information and trading activity.
This market resolves around Jul 19, 2026, once the toss outcome is confirmed and verifiable from credible public reporting of the match. The outcome is determined by the official result of the coin toss at the start of the Somerset vs Worcestershire fixture. Resolution occurs after the event concludes and the toss result is documented by match officials or reliable sports data sources. Traders should monitor official match announcements to anticipate resolution timing.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before resolution. Team news, injury updates, or weather conditions affecting pitch conditions may influence pre-match sentiment and toss strategy expectations. Changes in betting patterns or sharp money flowing into one side can trigger rapid repricing as traders react to new information. Media commentary, expert predictions, or historical toss data shared publicly may also prompt traders to adjust their positions. Finally, any official announcements from the teams or match organizers could catalyze meaningful price movement as the fixture date approaches.
