This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Nottinghamshire and Lancashire scheduled for 2026-07-03 in T20 Blast. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Nottinghamshire will be considered correct if Nottinghamshire is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Lancashire will be considered correct if Lancashire is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader consensus and real-money risk. Sportsbooks may adjust lines based on liability, whereas this market adjusts purely through supply and demand. For toss outcomes, prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper pricing because participants have direct financial exposure to accuracy, though both venues ultimately aim to reflect the true probability of the event.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker mechanism that adjusts odds based on buy and sell volume. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more capital flowing into one outcome, the higher its price climbs; conversely, selling pressure lowers it. This continuous repricing ensures the market reflects the collective belief of all active traders at any given moment. Prices remain fluid until the match toss occurs, allowing participants to enter or exit positions as new information emerges or conviction changes.
This market resolves around Jul 10, 2026, once the T20 Blast match between Nottinghamshire and Lancashire takes place and the toss result is verified. The outcome is confirmed against credible public sources reporting the official toss outcome. Traders holding positions on the correct toss result receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution timing depends on the match schedule and the availability of verified reporting, typically occurring shortly after the toss is conducted.
Several factors can shift prices in this market before resolution. Weather forecasts may influence trader expectations if conditions favor one captain's toss strategy. Team news, such as injury updates or lineup changes, can alter perceived advantage in winning the toss. Betting patterns and large trades from prominent market participants often trigger cascading moves as other traders react. Additionally, any official announcements about match timing or venue changes could prompt repricing. Close to match day, final odds typically stabilize as uncertainty diminishes and the event becomes imminent.
