This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Northamptonshire and Somerset scheduled for 2026-07-18 in T20 Blast. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Northamptonshire will be considered correct if Northamptonshire is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Somerset will be considered correct if Somerset is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance liability and profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate the collective beliefs of traders who have real money at stake. For this market, prediction market participants may price the toss outcome differently than bookmakers, particularly if one venue attracts more sophisticated or specialized bettors. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus is strongest and where outlier views exist, though prediction markets tend to be highly efficient at incorporating public information.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each possible toss outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the cumulative trading activity and the current balance of buy and sell orders in the pool. As traders place bets, the price adjusts dynamically to incentivize balanced liquidity. You can enter or exit your position at any time before the market closes, with the final price determined by the last trades executed just before resolution.
This market resolves around Jul 25, 2026, once the T20 Blast match between Northamptonshire and Somerset concludes and the toss result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official toss call recorded at the ground. No further trading is permitted after the market closes, and payouts are distributed to holders of the winning outcome. The resolution process is automated once the event data becomes available through verified reporting channels.
Several factors could shift odds in this market before it closes. Weather conditions at the venue might influence trader expectations if one team has a documented preference for specific conditions. Team news, such as lineup changes or injury announcements, could alter perceptions of which captain might be more confident calling the toss. Social media sentiment and betting syndicates positioning ahead of the match may also create price momentum. Late-breaking information about ground conditions or captain statements could trigger sharp moves as traders react to new information. Ultimately, the toss remains inherently uncertain, so odds may remain relatively balanced unless new material facts emerge.
