This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Leicestershire and Lancashire scheduled for 2026-06-26 in T20 Blast. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Leicestershire will be considered correct if Leicestershire is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Lancashire will be considered correct if Lancashire is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one price outcomes through direct trader participation and supply-demand dynamics. Prediction markets typically incorporate real-time information more efficiently, as participants have financial incentive to identify mispricings. For the toss outcome, comparing this market's implied probability to sportsbook lines can reveal where the crowd consensus differs from bookmaker positioning.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the ratio of shares held in the liquidity pool, meaning larger trades move the odds more dramatically than smaller ones. As traders adjust their positions based on new information or sentiment shifts, the implied probability updates in real time, creating a continuous price discovery process for the toss prediction.
This market resolves around Jul 3, 2026, once the T20 Blast match between Leicestershire and Lancashire concludes and the toss result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team wins the coin toss at the start of play. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the match beginning, as the toss happens before any play commences.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before resolution. Weather forecasts affecting pitch conditions may influence team selection strategies and perceived toss advantage. Injury announcements or late lineup changes could alter trader expectations about which captain might prioritize batting or bowling first. Pre-match commentary from analysts or team officials discussing toss strategy may sway sentiment. Additionally, historical head-to-head toss records or recent form patterns could prompt traders to adjust positions. Any official statement from either team about their toss preference would likely trigger immediate repricing.
