Description

This event group covers a women's T20 Blast League 2 cricket match between Sussex Sharks and Northamptonshire Steelbacks scheduled for July 3, 2026. Markets track three outcomes: the coin toss winner, whether the match completes, and the overall match winner. Resolution depends on official ESPN Cricinfo records and competition rulings.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's match winner market contains a logical contradiction: both possible team outcomes (Northamptonshire wins OR Sussex wins) are mapped to Yes, making the market fundamentally unresolvable and unable to differentiate between the two competitors.Hero tip: Do not trade the match winner on Kalshi. The market structure guarantees Yes resolution whenever the match completes with any winner, rendering it useless for prediction. Use Polymarket's match winner market instead, which properly distinguishes Sussex vs Northamptonshire outcomes.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Match winner resolves to Sussex Sharks if Sussex wins, Northamptonshire Steelbacks if Northamptonshire wins. If tied with Super Over available, Super Over winner is used. If tied with no tiebreak, tied/abandoned/canceled, or no official result, resolves 50-50. Source: ESPN Cricinfo official match result.
  • Kalshi: Market states: 'If Northamptonshire Steelbacks wins...then resolves to Yes' AND 'If Sussex Sharks wins...then resolves to Yes.' Both team outcomes map to Yes, leaving no logical path to No. This creates an incoherent market that cannot resolve based on which team actually wins.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the cricket match between Sussex Sharks and Northamptonshire Steelbacks scheduled for July 3 2026 in T20 Blast, League 2, Women. This market resolves according to the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Kalshi

Resolution depends on the official outcome declared by the governing body. If either team wins, that team's market resolves to Yes. If the match ends in a tie, draw, no result, abandonment, or cancellation with no official winner declared, all markets resolve to $0.50. Forfeits, disqualifications, or concessions occurring before play begins result in $0.50 resolution; if they occur after play has begun and an official winner is declared, resolution follows that result. If play begins but insufficient play occurs to determine an official result, all markets resolve to $0.50.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi derive odds directly from trader positions rather than bookmaker margins, often reflecting real-time belief more transparently. Sportsbooks build in a house edge and may adjust lines based on liability management rather than pure probability. This market's odds tend to tighten as the event approaches and new information emerges, whereas traditional sportsbooks may move more cautiously to protect their book. Comparing the two can highlight where public perception and professional oddsmakers diverge.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, all of which influence price discovery. Polymarket and Kalshi may also have distinct rules around market creation, dispute resolution timelines, and eligible participants. Temporary imbalances in order flow, differences in how traders interpret ambiguous outcomes, and variations in platform UI can cause prices to diverge. These gaps often close as informed traders arbitrage between venues, but windows of opportunity may persist during low-liquidity periods.
