This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Lancashire and Durham scheduled for 2026-07-12 in T20 Blast. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Lancashire will be considered correct if Lancashire is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Durham will be considered correct if Durham is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract margin, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. On this market, traders are directly exposed to the outcome, creating stronger incentive alignment with ground truth. Sportsbook odds may lag behind prediction market repricing when new information emerges, or they may differ due to regulatory constraints and risk management practices. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus is strongest and where uncertainty remains highest.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell outcome shares directly against a liquidity pool. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the ratio of shares held in reserve; as traders buy one outcome, its price rises and the alternative falls. This continuous repricing ensures the market stays responsive to new information and trader conviction. The spread between bid and ask prices tightens as volume increases, rewarding active participation and making it easier for traders to enter or exit positions at fair prices.
This market resolves around Jul 19, 2026, once the toss has been conducted and the outcome is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution hinges on the official result announced by the match officials and broadcasters at the ground. Until that moment, traders can continue to buy and sell shares as new information—such as team news, weather updates, or historical toss patterns—becomes available. After resolution, all winning shares pay out at full value and losing shares expire worthless.
Several factors can shift this market before the toss occurs. Team lineup announcements and injury news may influence perceived advantage, as certain captains or conditions favor one outcome. Weather forecasts—particularly wind and cloud cover—can sway trader positioning, since atmospheric conditions affect coin behavior. Historical head-to-head toss records and venue-specific patterns often attract analytical traders seeking edge. Late-breaking odds from sportsbooks or social media sentiment can also trigger repricing. As the match start time approaches, final confirmation of playing conditions and captain availability typically generates the most volatile trading activity.
