This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Hampshire and Essex scheduled for 2026-07-15 in T20 Blast. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Hampshire will be considered correct if Hampshire is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Essex will be considered correct if Essex is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders competing to profit on their forecasts. Prediction markets typically aggregate dispersed information more efficiently, sometimes offering sharper odds than traditional sportsbooks. For the toss outcome, comparing this market's implied probability against major sportsbook lines can reveal where the crowd sees value. Both venues serve different purposes: sportsbooks offer fixed odds for wagering, while prediction markets reward accurate forecasting.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each toss outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome fluctuates based on order flow and the ratio of shares outstanding. When more traders buy one outcome, its price rises and the competing outcome's price falls, always summing to 100 cents. This continuous repricing ensures the market reflects the latest information and trader conviction. You can enter or exit your position at any time before the market closes, with prices updating in real time as new trades execute.
This market resolves around Jul 22, 2026, once the toss result from the Hampshire vs Essex match is confirmed. The outcome will be verified against credible public sources reporting the official toss winner. Once the event concludes and the toss outcome is publicly available, the market will settle automatically, paying out traders who correctly predicted the result. No further trading occurs after resolution. Mark your calendar for the match start time to ensure you finalize your position before the toss occurs and the market locks.
Several factors can shift trader sentiment and move prices in this market before resolution. Team news, injury updates, or lineup changes announced before the match may influence how bettors perceive each side's advantage, indirectly affecting toss predictions. Weather conditions and pitch reports released on match day can also sway sentiment. Large trades or sudden order flow from informed traders often trigger price swings as other participants react. Media coverage, expert commentary, and social discussion around the fixture may drive retail participation. Watch for any late-breaking developments or shifts in trading volume that could signal a change in crowd conviction about the toss outcome.
